Anticipation

Give me something to sink my teeth into…”

I was thinking steak dinner, but she watches too many horror movies, screams I’m a vampire and pulls her collar to reveal the throbbing vein in her neck.

“I’ve waited my whole life for you,” she says.

“Cut it out. I’m starving.”

“Have a drink. Turn me too. Please,” she begs.

It’s unsettling how desperate she is. I almost feel guilty to disappoint. “I’m not what you think I am.”

Even I’m in denial of the fangs I trace with my tongue, but biting her would mean instant death.

For us both.

  1. That’s funny, when I first saw the trailer, it made me think of ‘Ready or Not.’ Let’s hope ‘Bride Hunting’ hasn’t become the new popular trope, lol. I’ll certainly watch it now with your feedback. Just have to wait until it hits one of the streaming platforms.

    1. Oh yeah! Ready or Not was one of those movies I really wanted to see but it gradually disappeared in my never ending watchlist and I eventually forgot about it lol. But now that you mention it, you’re absolutely right!

  2. I don’t know why this reminded me that I haven’t seen ‘The Invitation’ yet. I love Nathalie Emmanuel but I’m always so leery about watching new vampire movies and shows. I want to, though, even if it’s just to see her kick some undead arse (couldn’t resist). 😉

    1. Omg I went to see it last month and I loved it! A bit of a slow start, and if you’ve seen the trailer you’ve basically seen the movie lol, but there were still a few surprise twists that made me very happy. But they were probably surprises to me because I wasn’t paying that close of attention at the beginning lol. Someone on social media said it’s like Get Out meets Twilight, and I stand. But I don’t want to spoil it any further 😆

Let me know I'm not talking to myself.
