Dear Diary
My Inspired Story
I can feel him behind me, breathing over my shoulder. He doesn’t even bother to hide his nosiness. He’s so vain, he probably thinks I’m writing about him.
“Mind if I read?”
“Yes, actually.”
He clicks his tongue. “How do you expect to be a successful author when you won’t even let the people closest to you read what you write?”
“Not everything I write is meant for consumption.” I snap the journal closed. Funny how his voice can zap away all inspiration and will to move the pen.
I’ll try again tomorrow, and this time, remember to lock the door.
