A Kiss in Your Pocket: Imagine (#AtoZChallenge #LovePoetry)

Imagine

Long day from work—you,
dozing off in my lap, me
massaging oil in your hair

  1. I don’t know whether it is just an Australian term …. but here we refer to someone giving false compliments in order to ingratiate themselves to another as ‘pissing in their pocket’ …. and ‘a kiss in your pocket’ sort of sent me in that direction …

    You’re missing the point
I am not a good bet, yet
    You’re pissing in my pocket

Is there a word for the 5/7/7 pattern,by the way?

    1. Haha! That’s very interesting. I think it’s pretty cool that even when we speak the same language, we can still get lost in translation. 😀

The katuata would be the 5/7/7 pattern (it can also have 5/7/5). But with its humorous tone, I would say your poem could fall in the category of senryu too!
