I don’t know whether it is just an Australian term …. but here we refer to someone giving false compliments in order to ingratiate themselves to another as ‘pissing in their pocket’ …. and ‘a kiss in your pocket’ sort of sent me in that direction …

Haha! That’s very interesting. I think it’s pretty cool that even when we speak the same language, we can still get lost in translation. 😀
The katuata would be the 5/7/7 pattern (it can also have 5/7/5). But with its humorous tone, I would say your poem could fall in the category of senryu too!
